Rainbow Patina: Copper

This patina was made specifically for use on copper.  It will not work on brass or bronze.

Preparation of Copper:
This is a cold patina.  Please allow an hour or more for the patina to work on the surface of the metal in order to achieve the best results.  The metal must be very clean and should be buffed or polished prior to application.  Be sure to remove all of the polishing compound - rubbing alcohol works best to remove the final buffing compound residue.

Application of Rainbow Patina:
Apply the patina to the surface of the metal; let it sit for about an hour, then rinse with water. If the patina has not reacted enough, reapply and repeat the process. When finished, allow to dry and spray on a lacquer.

Here is the formula:
                    One gallon distilled water
                     ½ ounce muriatic acid
                    ½ ounce sodium thiosulfate
